I find most developers use jQuery nowadays. Anyone using Drupal does. I have written a few extensions myself and modified some other people's plugins.
There was an Ottawa jQuery meetup run by Darcy White a couple of years ago, but it wasn't well organized so withered away.
I attend the Ottawa PHP meetup every month. We talk about jQuery a bit. Most meeting we talk about it for at least half an hour. A couple of months ago we started merging the Ottawa Web Developer meetup with the Ottawa PHP meetup. Ottawa being as small as it is, we found this helps build a larger group.
The next meeting is at Nepean Sailing club on Sept 10th. You can see the schedule at www.ottawaphp.com .
I've been looking for ways to connect and learn from others in our community who have grabbed this great opportunity to improve the functionality of websites with the use of jQuery. I'm really new to this language. I'm a graphic designer by trade but i'd like to get more involved with the backend control of my sites.
I just recently developed a site using CSS and jQuery. www.imagenenation.ca. For a first time, I really enjoyed the flexibility jQuery offers.
I have only been able to test and play with the parameters offered but hopefully with continued exposure to this community and constant referencing of others work, I may start to grasp the confidence and knowledge to take a bigger role and control.

Does an Yvan Meloche work with you?
Thanks for the welcome.
