Ben Alman will be speaking about the importance of JavaScript unit testing, and how your jQuery and JavaScript code can benefit from unit tests. In addition to outlining how both test- and behavior-driven development approaches work, Ben will also talk about functional JavaScript unit testing, and walk through the development of a QUnit testing suite.

Come down to Bocoup and learn how to contribute to the jQuery project. You don't have to be a JavaScript Samurai or even an ace programmer to help the jQuery commiters prepare for releases. Todd Parker, of the jQuery UI team, will walk through how to use the jQuery mobile framework to progressively enhance the mobile experience, and bring us up to date with recent developments in the jQuery mobile framework.

Adam Sontag, member of the jQuery UI team, will walk us through jQuery UI Widget Development and pop open the widget factory on the big screen to show us how it works. In this talk Adam will examine the process of creating complex, stateful plugins, and how jQuery UI's Widget Factory can speed up and simplify the process of developing and using jQuery plugins.

Jonathan Stark, Mobile Javascript expert and maintainer of jQTouch, will talk about the mobile web development landscape and walk us through his mobile JavaScript Toolkit. Jonathan will crack open the jQTouch source to walk us through how it works and show us how he uses it to build super efficient mobile applications that look like native iPhone Apps.

Ben Alman, author of over two dozen jQuery plugins, will step through the creation of a jQuery plugin, discussing development best practices including code maintainability, organization and generalization, as well as performance and size optimization.
