Welcome John. I think most people go through a phase of trying to throw everything at a project - so you're not alone.

Hello. It's nice to see that there are some teacher's on here. Maybe I can learn something.
I am the sole developer for bowlingball.com. I have been hacking around with jQuery on our site for years. However, the site was very bloated because I threw everything at it as time progressed (jQuery, YUI, ProtoType). I just made the decision last week to go all jQuery and I am so far very happy.

I'm currently using jQuery with a maps API for orlandoinfo.com
Nice - I teach design at Seminole State (adjunct) and am trying to introduce a special topic class there. I do a lot of custom jQuery / javascript in general at my main job and with my freelance work. Created 3 (simple) plug-ins last week to finish off a project. Hope to release them as soon as I finish up some documentation.
